A root canal, done under a microscope, close to home

Dr. Hye Ahn treats the teeth that other dentists send her, in three offices on set days. Your own dentist gets a written report after every visit and keeps your regular care.

One doctor, three offices, set days

Dr. Ahn is in a different town on most weekdays. Each office's number is answered by the team in that office on its days.

After a referral

What happens to your patient, in order

Four steps from your office's call to the patient's next appointment with you.

  • 01

    You send the referral

By our secure form or by phone. We ask for the tooth, the images you have and the best way to reach the patient.

  • 02

    We book the visit

Our referral coordinator offers the first opening at the office nearest the patient. A tooth that hurts now is placed sooner when we can.

  • 03

    Dr. Ahn examines and explains

She looks at the tooth under the microscope, takes the images she needs and goes over the options before any treatment starts.

  • 04

    You get the report

A written report goes to you with the images, what was done and what we suggest next. The patient comes back to you for the crown or filling.

The microscope

Why the inside of a tooth is looked at through one

Inside a tooth the canals are narrow and hard to see. A microscope gives Dr. Ahn light and magnification where she is working.

It doesn't change what a root canal is: cleaning and sealing the inside of the tooth, then handing the tooth back to the referring dentist for its final restoration. Whether a tooth can be kept depends on the tooth. Dr. Ahn tells you what she sees before she begins, and results vary.

Before you book

Questions patients ask first

Do I need a referral?

Most patients come on a dentist's referral, and we send that dentist a report afterward. If you don't have one, call us and we will talk it through. We ask for your dentist's name either way.

Will it hurt?

The tooth is numbed before we start, and Dr. Ahn checks that it is working. Tell her at any point and she will stop. Some soreness afterward is common, and she explains what to expect.

How long is a visit?

Plan on about an hour for a first visit. Treatment may begin the same day if you agree and the tooth allows it; some teeth need a second visit.

Who does the crown or filling afterward?

Your own dentist. We treat the inside of the tooth and send you back to your dentist for its final restoration.

How much will it cost?

It depends on the tooth and on your plan. We give you a written estimate before treatment, and the fees page explains how paying works.
