Emergency visits

A toothache that can't wait

Start with the first step. The office you are nearest answers the urgent line on its days.

  • If it is a medical emergency

Swelling spreading to your face, eye or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, a serious blow to the head or bleeding that won't stop: go to an emergency room or call 911. Don't wait for us.

  • If a tooth is broken or knocked out

Call our office right away. For a knocked-out tooth, don't scrub it and keep it moist in milk until you are seen.

  • If it is severe pain

Call the urgent line for the office you are nearest. Tell us you were referred, or give us your dentist's name.

  • If it can wait for the next open day

Call your dentist or ours. Pain that is steady or keeps you up at night is worth a call today.

  • Swelling that spreads to your face, eye or neck, trouble breathing or swallowing, a serious blow to the head, or bleeding that won't stop needs emergency care now. Go to an emergency room or call 911. If a tooth is knocked out or broken, call our office right away.

Urgent line

Who answers, by day

We are not a 24-hour facility. Each number is answered by the team in that office on its days.

Questions

About urgent visits

Can you see me today?

We keep room for urgent patients when we can on the days Dr. Ahn is in an office. We can't promise a same-day visit. Call and we will tell you the soonest opening.

What if it is the weekend?

We are closed on weekends. If the pain can't wait, or you have swelling or trouble breathing, go to an emergency room or call 911.

Do I need a referral in an emergency?

No. Call us, and we will ask for your dentist's name so we can send them a report.

Not an emergency?

You can request a regular visit and we will call you back.
