How fees work
The questions patients and referring offices ask about paying, in the order they ask them.
Insurance we work with
Most patients come on a referral, and a dental plan often treats a referral to an endodontist differently from general care. We are in network with some plans and out of network with others, and the first call tells you where yours stands.
PPO plans: in network with some, out of network with others
DHMO plans: not a participating office
Medicaid and CHIP: not accepted at this office
Medicare and Medicare Advantage: ask us what applies
If you pay yourself
If you don't have insurance, or choose not to use it, you pay for the visit and treatment you receive, and you know the fee before we start. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

Receipts for reimbursement
After each visit you get an itemized receipt with the procedure codes. If we are out of network with your plan, you can send it in to ask for reimbursement. The plan decides what it pays.
Itemized, every visit
Procedure codes included
An estimate in advance
You can ask for a written estimate before any treatment. If you're paying without insurance, we give you a written estimate in advance, when you schedule or whenever you ask. It lists the visit, each step we expect and the fee for each.

Checking your benefits
Before your first visit our referral coordinator checks your plan's benefit for endodontic care and tells you what to expect. What a plan tells us is an estimate, not a promise of payment.

What the first visit includes
The first visit is an exam, the images Dr. Ahn needs and a talk about your options. Plan on about an hour. Forms are in the practice's portal, so nothing is filled out on paper in the waiting room.

Questions
About paying
Can I get a written estimate before treatment?
Yes. Ask when you book, or at any time, and we will write it out before any work begins.
What if my plan pays less than I expected?
The plan decides what it pays. The estimate we give you is the practice's fee, so you know what you owe before you decide.
